What is a
Proxy?
A Web-based web
proxy allows you to browse websites through a centrally located server.
The IP address of the proxy server represents you on the internet. The
host website you are visiting only sees the IP address of the proxy server!
Why would I
use a Proxy?
In an
ever-changing world of technology, protecting your identity is important.
Surfing the web at school or work behind filters and firewalls can prevent you from
receiving important emails and surfing your favorite websites.
Your right to anonymity is
also protected by the United States Bill of Rights. |

Is using a Proxy totally
safe?
The idea behind a
proxy is to allow anonymous browsing. Conducting illegal activities,
hacking, etc., will alert the proxy host. The
IProx TOS outlines
the legal use of a proxy and the results of using our proxies in this way.
How do I get
started?
Simply choose a web proxy from the
IProx Proxy list at the top of this page. Enter a web address in the URL
and click the "Browse" or "Go" button, depending on the proxy.
Most CGI-based
proxies will allow you logon to websites to check email, post in forums, MySpace,
etc. Browsing speed is usually slower with a CGI Proxy.
Most PHP-based proxies allow faster
browsing and downloading but do not usually work will all websites that require
a logon. However, our new version of PHP proxies do allow logon to most
popular websites. Want a larger list of Proxy Sites?
